Bypassing the Co-Load Trap: LA Cargo Release Rescue

The Challenge

Jan Enterprise booked a critical shipment of consumer goods through a low-cost logistics broker. Unbeknownst to Jan Enterprise, this broker sub-contracted the cargo down a multi-tier co-loader chain (working with F3/F4 sub-tier co-loaders).

Upon arrival at the Port of Los Angeles, a sub-tier broker demanded duplicate ocean freight and handling charges directly from the client. When Jan Enterprise faced unexpected additional fees, the container release was delayed at the port terminal. This delay created a risk of daily terminal storage and demurrage fees (over $1,000 per day), which would significantly increase shipping costs.

The Solution

Ms. Lisa contacted Mai Phuong Logistics to help resolve the issue. Our Dedicated Task Force bypassed the co-loader network entirely and coordinated directly with the carrier, using our licensed forwarder credentials:

1. Direct F0 Booking Intervention

We contacted the actual ocean carrier (vessel operator) directly. Using our strong corporate relations and proving clean F0 booking authorization, we took over agency representation for the container. We verified the original Master Bill of Lading (MBL) details and bypass the sub-tier broker's intermediate house bills.

2. Telex Release & Document Coordination

We coordinated with our export operations team in Ho Chi Minh City to obtain proper document handovers from the shipper. We cleared all true vessel carrier fees, arranged a secure Telex surrender of the Bill of Lading directly with the carrier's HQ, and verified customs import clearance (CBP entry).
